Pacific Island Summer (May – Sept. 2003) takes visitors on a journey to the islands without ever leaving the Aquarium of the Pacific at the Long Beach, CA. Waterfront. The link between the rich cultural programs and presentations that were offered through out the summer, and the AoP’s fascinating marine life collection was developed by Kirk Design Inc.in collaboration with Zofia Kostyrko of deZign sKapes LLC (who also directed production and installation) and the AoP’s team. New environmental graphics and theming based on indigenous art of the diverse cultures of he Pacific basin successfully provide a colorful and contemporary background to exotic sights, sounds and smells brought into AoP by the islander artists and performers. Designed by Kirk Design Inc, Zofia Kostyrko of deZign sKapes LLC and Ruth Strick, the enhancements were built and installed by Lexington.
